A Surgical Gastroenterologist trained in Liver Transplant and Vascular Surgery, Dr. Sidarth Chacko takes a keen interest in treating benign and malignant diseases of the liver, pancreas, and biliary tree and in conducting laparoscopies. He holds a Master of Chirurgiae (MCh) in Surgical Gastroenterology, a Master of Surgery (MS) in General Surgery, and an MBBS from Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, Kochi. He was a Junior Consultant at Medical Trust Hospital, Kochi before joining the Centre of Excellence in Gastroenterology and Integrated Liver Care. Abreast of the latest development in his area of specialization, Dr. Chacko has also helped write a well-known textbook on Gastroenterology.

E Dr. Deepak Varma is a surgical gastroenterologist with the experience, in the field of Gastro-Intestinal (GI) and Hepato-Biliary (HPB) Surgery. He completed his MBBS from Government Medical College, Thrissur in 1994, and his MS in General Surgery from JIPMER, Pondicherry in 1998. With a special interest in GI and HPB surgery, he further did his MCh in Surgical Gastroenterology from Government Medical College, Thiruvananthapuram in 2000. Immediately after completing his MCh, he went for overseas training in Hepato-biliary and pancreatic surgery at Queen Mary Hospital, Hong Kong.
Honorary Fellow of Minimal Access Surgeons of India (FMAS), Dr Deepak also underwent special training in Liver Surgery and completed his fellowship in HPB Surgery and Liver Transplantation from Beaujon Hospital, Paris. In 2007, he underwent training in advanced laparoscopic colorectal surgery at Kyung Pook National University, South Korea. With a special interest in minimal access robotic surgeries, he also underwent special training in robotic surgery with Da Vinci X in Tampa, Miami, and Atlanta in the USA. He has been instrumental in bringing the first surgical robot to Cayman Islands and setting up Robotic Surgery department in Health City Cayman Islands.
Dr. Deepak has performed over 2500 laparoscopic surgeries for a wide range of health conditions. His special areas of interest include bariatric surgeries (complex and redo), robotic GI surgeries for colorectal and pancreatic resections, liver surgery, and surgical treatment for GI cancers.
Before joining Aster Medcity Kochi, Dr Deepak was a Senior Consultant with Health City, Cayman Islands.
